چکیده

The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted patients and healthcare systems worldwide, potentially impacting the outcomes of percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI). We investigated hospitalized for PCI during first year pandemic. identified all in 2020 using National Inpatient Sample (NIS), identifying those with or without concurrent COVID-19. Logistic linear regression was used analyses associations, adjustment potential confounders. defined significance as a 2-tailed p-value 0.05. There were 331,519 hospitalizations 2020, which 3,045 included infection. After adjusting age, race, sex, hospital bed size, location, teaching status, insurance income level, Elixhauser comorbidities; we found that undergoing infection had higher rate in-hospital mortality (aOR 8.28, 95% CI 6.51- 10.5), mechanical ventilation use 3.47, 2.78-4.34), vasopressor 2.56, 1.69 - 3.87), hemodialysis 1.62, 1.11- 2.36), length stay 3.70, 2.76- 4.64) total charges $52,938 (p<0.001) than Our study rates adverse This can be attributed longer symptoms-to-first medical contact time other system delays present

Gender impact on in-hospital outcomes after percutaneous coronary intervention.

BACKGROUND Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is a widely performed technique for coronary revascularization. Men and women seem to have different in-hospital outcomes, although results remain unclear. We assessed the gender impact on in-hospital outcomes in men and women undergoing PCI. METHODS In a single center, from 1998 to 2002, a total of 413 patients who underwent PCI were includ...

Impact of Body Mass Index on In-Hospital Outcomes after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention PERCUTANEOUS CORONARY INTERVENTION | ORIGINAL RESEARCH

However, recent studies have suggested a paradoxical relationship between obesity and clinical outcomes in certain subsets of patients. Data from percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) registries suggest that the very lean and the very obese have an increased risk of in-hospital complications and short-term mortality.6 1.
